People living with gMG typically report feeling lonely, anxious, guilty, angry frustrated and depressed.1 When combined with the physical limitations, a general lack of energy, and the exhaustion caused by gMG, it is possible that sex life may be affected.1,3,4
They should be aware of the signs of a myasthenic crisis so that they can seek immediate medical care for you as quickly as possible.

Sexual health issues for women with gMG may include:1
  • having less interest in sex
  • reduced arousal
  • vaginal dryness
  • a failure to achieve orgasm
Since gMG affects the transmission of signals between nerves and muscles, men may experience issues such as:2,5
  • having problems becoming physically 
 aroused during sexual activity
  • difficulties in achieving or maintaining an erection
  • problems with ejaculation or orgasm
